Now that you have a solid understanding of station-based practices, here are a few skating skills and drills to help develop your players:

  • Push Their Comfort Zones: Encourage your players to try new, challenging movements. Whether they’re walking on their toes or going from standing to the ice and back up again, these activities help build agility and confidence.

  • Make It Fun: Keep things engaging by turning drills into games. Kids learn better when they're having fun, so challenge yourself to create enjoyable competitions or races that reinforce important skating skills.

  • Focus on Development: By concentrating on skills like balance, agility, and transitioning between positions, you’re doing a fantastic job in helping young players develop foundational skating abilities.

Lastly, get creative! Use these videos as a guide, but feel free to come up with your own drills. There’s no strict order—your focus should be on stretching players' abilities in a fun, supportive environment.
